Vestas is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician II for a full-time position located at the South Plains II Site in Lockney, TX. Offering a $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. As a Wind Turbine Technician II, you will perform maintenance and installation work on wind turbines, contributing to the growth of clean, renewable wind energy while ensuring safety and teamwork in a dynamic field environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and installation on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision.
• Follow defined schedules and procedures including safety protocols, and provide mentorship to entry-level technicians.
• Perform work at heights up to 250 feet and in confined spaces.
• Carry tools and equipment, sometimes in challenging weather conditions.
• Maintain professional standards of safety and work quality, with a focus on attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with customers and collaborate with team members to improve work safety and quality.

Required Experience

• At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience OR 6 months of wind industry experience and completion of a wind technician program OR 3 years of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite, or heavy machinery experience.
• Experience using and understanding intermediate-level power tools, including hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs while carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate internet-based programs.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and schematics.

Required Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

• The role requires work at heights (up to 250 feet) and in small spaces.
• The work environment can be outdoors with potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
