Job Description & Requirements
This full-time position is based at the SunZia wind project in Moriarty, NM, starting in June 2025. Prior to that, employees will participate in an accelerated on-the-job training program, which will involve traveling to existing wind farms across the United States. The role involves advanced-level work on wind turbines, with the opportunity to provide mentorship to junior technicians.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on wind turbines with minimal supervision.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
- Modify procedures and plans based on general guidance.
- Work in a variety of environments, including heights (up to 250 feet) and tight spaces.
- Utilize complex tools such as hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, while making recommendations for improvements.
Required Experience
- Prior experience working with complex power tools, hydraulic systems, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols, including energy isolation and risk mitigation.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with internet-based programs.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and schematics.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a passport.

Working Conditions
The work may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions and physical demands, including working at heights and in confined spaces. A flexible work schedule, including overtime, may be required, especially during the travel-intensive training period leading up to June 2025.
