The Financial Wellness Consultant (FWC) at KeyBank is a Banker who builds relationships by conducting Teller transactions, uncovering opportunities, and providing guidance for clients' financial wellness. This role involves attracting new clients, deepening relationships with existing clients, and offering personalized financial solutions. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. FWCs are responsible for guiding clients towards achieving their financial goals while delivering excellent service in both in-person interactions and proactive calls.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Embody a strong client experience culture, providing personalized attention and making a positive impact on clients' financial well-being.
- Listen for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and provide customized recommendations.
- Meet individual activity, behavior, and outcome expectations consistently.
- Process financial service transactions accurately while identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships.
- Open personal and business accounts, including checking, small business, deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, and certificates of deposit.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with branch teammates and other business partners, focusing on client acquisition and relationship deepening.
- Ensure compliance with operational, security, and audit procedures.
- Participate in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in developing customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources through tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking.
- Experience in cash handling.
- General knowledge of PC with Windows-based applications and a calculator.
- Proficiency in digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms.
- Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, and networking.
- Preferred: Understanding of consumer credit, including loan-to-value, debt-to-income, and credit reports.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Notary License (preferred).

- Knowledgeable about client accounts and uses sound judgment with transactions.
- Ability to attain sales and referral goals through preset appointments and quality conversations.
- Strong sales and service skills, including proactively educating clients on available access channels.
- Strong work ethic and high integrity.
- Excellent time management skills.

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day).
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate and grasp objects.
- Ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone.
- Occasional bending, lifting (1-10 lbs), and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
Driving Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
