Job Description & Requirements

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental management plans, with a focus on the Vestas Behavioral Change process. This role involves conducting reporting/inspection procedures and supporting day-to-day HSE initiatives within the factory location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the HSE team to coordinate the Vestas Behavior Change (VBC) effort.
  • Facilitate monthly VBC meetings and other meetings as needed; take notes and publish them.
  • Conduct observer training classes and NEO safety behavior modules; mentor other VBC trainers.
  • Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential health and safety hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures, and ensure implementation.
  • Coach observers and develop a coaching team for VBC observers.
  • Use observer and accident data to focus improvement efforts with Action Planning and Problem-Solving techniques.
  • Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and follow-up meetings.
  • Deliver HSE training (e.g., Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation).
  • Perform routine inspections of life safety equipment (fire suppression, emergency lighting, eyewash, etc.).
  • Facilitate compliance with hazardous material/waste handling and disposal regulations.
  • Assist with regulatory agency reports and worker’s compensation tracking.
  • Back up Emergency Coordinator for facility emergencies, including hazardous waste operations, weather events, and fires.
  • Support HSE communications, promotions, and safety committee initiatives.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of related experience or equivalent education/training.
  • OSHA 40-hour certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HSE databases and SharePoint.
  • Experience with behavior-based safety programs is a plus.
  • Strong team skills and ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Comfortable delivering training and presentations to groups.
  • Ability to interpret safety documents, operating instructions, and manuals.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Location of This Position:
Windsor, CO, US

Work Environment:
This role combines fieldwork in a factory environment with administrative responsibilities. About 60% of the work will take place in the field and factory settings, which involve exposure to risks typically associated with manufacturing environments, such as chemical use, machine operations, noise, and interaction with transport equipment. Conditions may include extreme temperatures, wet, muddy, dry, or unlevel ground.
