The Special Agent (Police) role with BNSF offers a $10,000 Hiring Bonus, split into two payments: $5,000 payable 30 days after hire and an additional $5,000 payable one year after hire. The salary range for this position is $92,000 to $107,200 annually.

As a Special Agent, you will be responsible for protecting and safeguarding company assets and resources, conducting investigations, and ensuring the safety and security of company personnel, property, and operations. This position requires significant law enforcement experience, particularly within the railroad industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Protect company assets, personnel, and customer property.
• Conduct corporate and criminal investigations and provide accurate reports.
• Handle trespassers on company property and make arrests as needed.
• Advise company officials to reduce crime and improve security measures.
• Coordinate responses to railroad emergencies.
• Supervise contract security guards and train employees on relevant security matters.
• Perform crime prevention patrols of facilities, railroad property, and trains.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Must have 18 months of successful full-time experience as a peace officer with a city, county, state, federal, or railroad law enforcement agency.
• Must have broad knowledge of the railroad industry and emergency situations such as derailments and load securement.
• Must have knowledge of criminal law and procedures.
• Must be able to successfully lead people, often in stressful and critical situations.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have completed basic police training at a state-certified academy.
• Must hold a valid State Peace Officer License.
