Job Description & Requirements
The Specialist I, Vendor Management will build and maintain vendor relationships, monitor vendor performance against KPI target levels, and ensure vendor compliance with established standards. This position requires approximately 10% travel and is based in an office environment with minimal physical effort required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Owns the supply chain relationship with the vendors who supply inventory items and/or professional services.
- Participates in contract reviews and coordinates contract renewals, changes/addendums with appropriate internal teams.
- Negotiates pricing, improved lead times, and identifies opportunities for cost savings and avoidance.
- Leads vendor management reviews detailing vendor performance, spend, price changes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Works with Supply Planners to mitigate impact from vendor service disruptions.
- Partners with the Marketing team to support vendor selection and setup process.
- Establishes standards and drives vendors to adhere to procurement procedures.
- Supports RFQ/RFI initiatives.
- Manages the sourcing and item setup process and maintains vendor sourcing rules, sourcing assignments, and lead times.
- Collaborates with the off-site buyer team on PO execution, ensuring KPI targets are met and vendor updates.
Required Experience
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in Supply Chain, manufacturing, and/or vendor management environments.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Working Conditions
- Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
- Minimal physical effort required; work is mostly sedentary but may involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying objects (less than 10 lbs).
- Moderate dexterity required for tasks like using a calculator, keyboard, and hand tools.
- Approximately 10% travel is required, subject to specific business needs.
