Job Description & Requirements
The Delivery & Setup Driver is responsible for the efficient and high-quality pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment in a safe manner. This role involves installation and networking of devices when required, as well as providing basic customer training. Professionalism and service quality directly impact future customer purchase decisions. Compliance with all federal DOT requirements is mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely deliver equipment to designated locations.
- Maintain log books as per DOT regulations (electronic or manual).
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with DOT and state laws.
- Perform pick-ups during deliveries to minimize costs.
- Conduct basic connected installations, including:
- Setting up IP addresses.
- Downloading print drivers.
- Removing hard drives.
- Backing up and uploading customer address books.
- Providing basic training on standalone and network devices.
- Participate in safety programs and adhere to all company policies.
- Pre-call customers when applicable to confirm deliveries.
- Meet expected productivity levels.
- Demonstrate strong technical and customer relation skills.
- Identify customer needs and determine appropriate actions, escalating when necessary.
- Provide feedback to the service and process team regarding networking and installation initiatives.
- Maintain a professional appearance in the company-provided uniform.
- Contact Dispatch and/or Service Department if technician support is needed.
- Ensure equipment configuration matches documentation (Bill of Lading, traveler, or other records).
- Properly load and secure equipment in the vehicle.
- Capture electronic customer signatures upon completion of transactions.
- Ensure all paperwork is signed and properly processed.
- Load and off-load trucks as required.
- Train new Delivery Drivers on product handling and proper loading techniques.
- Follow accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures.
- Conduct cycle counts and inventory reconciliation when required.
- Reconcile inventory at the end of the day based on completed routes and report discrepancies.
- Oversee an inventory value of up to $1,000,000.
- May require overnight stays for extended routes.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
- Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
- Safe driving record and history.
- Online technical training focused on networking and installation.
- On-the-job training with field technicians.
- Experience handling oversized and overweight equipment is preferred.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license as per company policy.
- Valid and current medical card.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) if required by state.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong customer presentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer skills.
- Adequate technical skills for installing and networking equipment.
- Methodical problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments.
Work Environment
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Lifting equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. and moving equipment up to 1,000 lbs.
- Work in diverse environments, including office, warehouse, and vehicle settings.
- Frequent exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex instructions and technical material.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
