Primary Responsibilities
- Perform advanced-level maintenance and repair on wind turbines with minimal supervision.
- Utilize strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Modify and implement work procedures and action plans based on general guidance.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
- Climb turbines, often working at heights of 250 feet and in confined spaces.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools including hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Ensure safety and professionalism in all work activities and recommend safety and quality improvements.
Required Experience
- Minimum one year of technical wind energy experience.
- Experience using advanced diagnostic and repair tools.
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and data to develop procedures and take corrective action.
Required Education
- Associate degree in a technical field (3 years) or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
- Frequent work at heights up to 250 feet.
- Exposure to outdoor elements including adverse weather.
- Physical requirements include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
