Job Description & Requirements

Vestas is offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements, including certifications from the Global Wind Organization (GWO) such as Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART). This intermediate-level role provides an opportunity to grow your career while supporting clean, renewable wind energy. Technicians will apply electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills to maintain and install wind turbines, working under minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and/or installation work on wind turbines following defined schedules and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and verbal/written instructions.
  • Work at heights up to 250 feet and in confined spaces.
  • Operate intermediate-level power tools (e.g., hydraulic and diagnostic tools).
  • Provide mentorship to entry-level technicians.
  • Recommend improvements to safety and quality practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with customers.

Required Experience

  • At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience; OR
  • Six (6) months of technical wind industry experience and a certificate from a wind technician program; OR
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with intermediate-level power tools such as Flukemeter functions and hydraulic pressure gauges.
  • Experience generating and interpreting computer data.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed outdoors, often in challenging weather conditions.
  • Tasks require climbing, lifting, and maneuvering equipment at significant heights and in small spaces.
  • Emphasis on teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail.
