Job Description & Requirements

The Systems Operator – Digital Automation supports and maintains advanced robotic, 3D‑printing, and modular control systems at Service Advantage partner sites. Working hands‑on with software‑based controls and electro‑mechanical components, the role maximizes system uptime, analyzes performance data, and drives continuous improvement in line with partner Standard Operating Procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain automated systems, robotic technologies, 3D‑printing stations, and related workstation solutions.

  • Oversee software, electrical, and mechanical control structures; perform diagnostics, installation, mapping, configuration testing, commissioning, and routine updates.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal uptime; escalate complex problems to partner support.

  • Collect and analyze performance data; apply root‑cause analysis and implement process improvements.

  • Communicate directly with vendor partners for seamless integration and issue resolution.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and site records; complete assigned technical training.

  • Provide additional technical support and partner‑requested tasks to enhance operational excellence.

Required Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent training/4‑year apprenticeship in robotics, mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical fields.

  • Hands‑on expertise with automated systems, PLCs, and industrial PCs.

  • Proficiency in Linux/command‑line plus working knowledge of Java, XML, SQL, and database administration.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electro‑mechanical and software‑controlled equipment; strong analytical and multitasking skills.

Required Education

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline (robotics, mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical) or equivalent apprenticeship/training.

  • (Preferred) Vocational/college degree focused on robotics, mechanical, or electronics technology.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse setting with normal lighting, ventilation, temperature, and noise levels.

  • Variable shifts and overtime may be required; regular laptop and test‑equipment use.

  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs; moving wheeled loads up to 400 lbs.

  • Occasional travel for vendor‑specific training or technical support.
