Northern California Territory
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 base + commission
Additional: Car allowance, phone stipend (BYOD), benefits
Travel: ~40–60% (2–3 days per week)
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to lead sales efforts for SpectraTurf products across Northern California—covering LA County north through the Oregon border, and east to Nevada. This role focuses heavily on developing business within the public sector, including schools, municipalities, architects, parks & recreation, and general contractors, with a strong emphasis on building long‑term relationships and driving market growth.
If you have a background in playground surfacing, recreational equipment, construction materials, or architect/GC‑driven sales, you’ll excel in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Drive sales growth by building and managing relationships with key end users, architects, designers, GCs, and public agencies.
- Develop new business within schools, city departments, parks & recreation, and other public entities.
- Work collaboratively with Territory Reps and internal teams to execute the SpectraTurf sales strategy.
- Manage the full sales cycle including presentations, bids, quotes, pricing, delivery, installation coordination, and follow‑up.
- Represent SpectraTurf at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Provide product knowledge, CEU presentations, and market training to customers and partners.
- Track pipeline activity and reporting using Salesforce, spreadsheets, and internal systems (Epicor).
- Maintain deep understanding of territory dynamics: prevailing wage vs. private work, union requirements, PLA regulations, and public bid processes.
- Build and maintain a strong book of business while expanding regional market penetration.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in flooring, construction materials, recreational equipment, site furnishings, or architect/GC‑focused sales.
- Proven experience managing a territory‑based book of business.
- Demonstrated success selling to schools, cities, architects, and parks departments.
- Strong presentation skills, including CEU‑style architect presentations.
- High drive, organization, and ability to independently manage travel and scheduling.
- Experience working with equipment companies, GCs, and public agencies.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, spreadsheets, and CRM/reporting tools (Epicor is a plus).
- Ability to build strong relationships, drive projects, and navigate complex sales environments.
Preferred Experience
(Not required, but highly valuable)
- Experience in the recreation or playground industry (e.g., LSI, PlayPower).
- Background selling playground equipment, site furnishings, surfacing, or related outdoor recreation products.
- Strong architectural network within the recreational or public construction space.
