The Special Agent (Police) position at BNSF in Denver, CO offers an opportunity to safeguard company assets, personnel, and customer property while performing corporate and criminal investigations. The role provides a salary range of $90,300 - $98,500 annually.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Protect and safeguard company assets, including personnel, property, and customer property.
- Conduct corporate and criminal investigations, providing detailed reports and court testimony when necessary.
- Address trespassers on company property and make arrests as appropriate.
- Advise company officials to reduce crime and accidents; coordinate responses to railroad emergencies.
- Supervise contract security guards and train employees on relevant matters.
- Perform aggressive crime prevention patrols of facilities, railroad property, and trains, with a focus on high-value shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Eighteen months of successful experience as a full-time peace officer with a city, county, state, federal, or railroad law enforcement agency.
- Must have completed basic police training at a state-certified academy.
- Must meet peace officer commissioning standards in the state and maintain a valid State Peace Officer License.
- Must have broad knowledge of criminal law, procedures, and the railroad industry, particularly emergency situations like derailments and load securement.
Required Education:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
Working Conditions:
- Must be physically and psychologically fit to pass required evaluations and background checks.
- Must be willing and able to travel as required.
- Must be able to successfully complete company training and meet retention standards.
