Umbilical Senior Designer | Mobile, AL

We are seeking an experienced Umbilical Senior Designer to join our Umbilical & Cable Systems Engineering team in Mobile, Alabama. This role will support the design, manufacturing, and delivery of subsea umbilicals and distribution equipment for offshore oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed designs using SolidWorks.
• Create 2D drawings, layouts, and hydraulic/electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
• Design subsea umbilicals, termination assemblies, mudmats, flying leads, reels, and related equipment.
• Produce fabrication, machining, assembly, and general arrangement drawings.
• Generate BOMs and material data in SAP.
• Perform tolerance and fit-up analyses.
• Support design reviews, manufacturing activities, and supplier interactions.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of mechanical design/drafting experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP, and Excel.
• Ability to read and create electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred

• Experience in subsea, offshore, or oil & gas equipment design.
• Knowledge of subsea umbilicals, distribution equipment, or related systems.
• Familiarity with 3D printing/rapid prototyping.
• Hands-on approach and ability to work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
