Job Description & Requirements

The Pultrusion Operator position offers a pay rate of $19.30 per hour, with an additional $2 shift differential for 3rd shift (6:45 pm - 7:15 am) on a 12-hour shift schedule. This role involves working in the pultrusion and MAT areas, performing tasks such as operating equipment, handling hazardous materials, and assisting in troubleshooting. Shift rotation includes 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with a 2 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, 2 days OFF schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to hazardous material storage and disposal.
  • Mix resin and deliver it to machines, and cut mats to be delivered to machines.
  • Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on resin room, mat cutter, saws, dust collectors, etc.
  • Report the yield and scrap of cut materials to the department manager.
  • Maintain creel, tie in doffs as needed, and deliver operating supplies to the machines.
  • Change out resin buckets and operate powered equipment.
  • Aid pultrusion operators, assist in troubleshooting, and relief operator duties as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility for overtime and varying work hours.
  • Follow safety, quality, and production requirements/procedures.

Required Experience

  • Manufacturing-related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work with and around moving equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery and tools.
  • Experience with hand tools and measuring devices (dial calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • General knowledge of PLC controls (does not include programming).
  • Problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment

  • Noise levels in certain areas require hearing protection.
  • Safety glasses and other personal protective equipment are required.
  • Exposure to seasonal high temperatures and humidity.
  • Frequent handling of glass, fiberglass materials, resin composites, and cleaning solvents.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
