The Wind Turbine Technician III position at Vestas is a full-time role based in Sargent, TX at the Peyton Creek site. The position offers a $2,500 USD sign-on bonus to qualified candidates. If you are equipped with Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) certifications from the Global Wind Organization (GWO), you are already one step ahead in this advanced-level role. In this position, you will utilize your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical expertise to ensure the safety of yourself and your team while performing maintenance and repairs on wind turbines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform work on assigned wind turbines with minimal to no supervision.
• Modify procedures and plans, take action from general direction, and develop/implement action plans.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
• Work at heights up to 250 feet and in confined spaces to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Use various tools and equipment, including complex power tools, hydraulic rams, and diagnostic tools.
• Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols, including energy isolation and risk mitigation.
• Ensure high safety standards and attention to detail in all work.
• Communicate effectively with customers and collaborate with co-workers.
• Read and interpret drawings and schematics to develop procedures, validate work activity, and take appropriate action.

Required Experience

• At least one year of technical wind experience.
• Experience using advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., advanced fluke meter functions, VOB data collection).
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
• Proficient in computer operation and internet-based program navigation.
• Ability to generate and interpret computer data.
• valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a passport

Required Education

• A three-year technical associate degree or equivalent.

Work Environment

• The role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, sometimes at great heights (up to 250 feet).
• May require working in confined spaces while carrying tools and equipment.
