Job Description & Requirements

This entry-level position is responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting of Comcast’s voice, video, and data services. Compensation is $18.20/hour, with quarterly bonuses and paid training. The role includes a comprehensive benefits package effective Day 1, including health, dental, vision insurance, 21 paid days off, 8 company-observed holidays, and highly discounted cable services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations and service changes following Comcast procedures, NEC/NESC codes, and local ordinances.

  • Troubleshoot service issues from the drop to customer equipment; design and set up basic home networks using coaxial, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and MoCA.

  • Maintain timely and accurate records of all service activities in customer accounts.

  • Evaluate Wi-Fi signal strength and recommend device placement; educate customers on optimal use of Comcast services and equipment.

  • Stock, maintain, and report service needs for tools and vehicles; reconcile CPE equipment with the warehouse.

  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, meters, ladders, and digital tools for diagnostics.

  • Obtain and maintain all required licenses and background checks.

  • Climb poles, ladders, and use bucket trucks for installations and service calls.

  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs; work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces) and near power lines.

  • Drive a company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Complete all required training and pass certification exams within designated timeframes.

  • Be available for variable work shifts including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime.

  • Meet or exceed service goals and performance metrics.

  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

  • Ideal for individuals with technical aptitude or a background in customer service or trades.

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in various environments.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to diverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and other precipitation.

  • Frequent work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics), and near moderate noise levels and electricity.

  • Exposure to animals during home visits.

  • Variable shifts may include 10-hour days, weekends, evenings, holidays, and required overtime.
